Congratulations are in order for professional wrestling power couple Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews! The superstars from rival promotions WWE and AEW said “I do” on June 23rd, 2024, as announced on Ripley’s official Instagram page.
The photo, simply captioned “Til Death. 23.06.24,” shows the newlyweds beaming in all black attire, reflecting their edgy on-screen personas. The news comes after their engagement in August 2023, which sent shockwaves through the wrestling world due to their affiliation with competing brands.
Both Ripley and Matthews are currently sidelined with injuries. Ripley, the former WWE Women’s Champion, relinquished her title due to a shoulder injury. Matthews, a member of AEW’s House of Black, wrote his storyline injury off as a “family event” in Australia, which now makes perfect sense.
Fans are eager to see the talented duo back in the ring, but for now, they celebrate this exciting new chapter in their lives. Wishes poured in from fellow wrestlers across promotions, including Bianca Belair from WWE and Dominik Mysterio, Ripley’s on-screen partner.
